The one place system count affects your bill
Everything else on this site prices per opening, so extra HVAC units cost you nothing. Fogging is the exception, and it is worth being direct about that.
It prices per unit because each system has to be treated separately. A two-system house is $320. A three-system house is $480. A large Silverleaf property on four is $640.
Which means this is a decision worth making deliberately rather than adding by default, and it is why we will tell you plainly when your system does not warrant it.
What it is
A plant-derived disinfectant delivered through the system as a fine mist, reaching the inside surfaces of the runs rather than only what is visible from a register.
A finishing step on a clean system. That word order separates an honest fogging service from a dishonest one.
Why the order matters
A disinfectant acts on whatever it contacts. Mist it into a duct carrying settled dust and you have disinfected the dust, which is still there doing what it did before.
Misting takes a fraction of the time and cost that cleaning does, which is exactly why some operators sell it as the entire service under a name engineered to sound technical. Anybody offering to sanitize ducts without cleaning them first is selling you the ten-minute half.
When it genuinely earns the money
- A property that has sat closed for months, which is the strongest case in Scottsdale and very common here
- An odor that persists after the ducts have been cleaned
- A history of damp, a drain problem or a leak
- After rodent or insect activity has been dealt with
- Taking over a house where you have no idea what came before
When we will tell you to skip it
More often than you would expect, and it costs us the most money here of anywhere in the Valley given what a multi-system house would bill.
A healthy system in an occupied house, no odor, no damp history, does not need this. Cleaning removes what was in there and fogging adds nothing measurable.
What we will not claim
Not that it prevents mold. That is a product label claim and we will not make it on a website.
Not that it improves anybody's health. Same reason this site does not claim it for duct cleaning generally. The honest version is here.
And visible growth is not a fogging job. That is remediation, a separate trade with separate licensing, and misting over it covers a problem rather than fixing it.
